A century-long legacy spanning three generations

From small gold and silver shops to fashion boutique brands

Yu Shih Chia is a leading local Taiwanese jade brand.

With nearly a century of history, the family’s three-generation story began with a rural gold and silver shop and a jewelry store, eventually evolving into a local fashion boutique brand. Through the passage of time, it reflects both the heartfelt legacy passed from father to son and a profound commitment to realizing the brand’s values.

The brand’s founder, Chairman Cheng Sheng-chi, is dedicated to making jade more youthful, fashionable, and refined, while pioneering unprecedented new frontiers in jade art. With a solid management philosophy, he has strengthened the brand’s spirit, united the team, and established robust systems, guiding Yu Shih Chia toward a long-term vision.

1932

During the Japanese colonial period, Mr. Cheng Kuo, the grandfather of Cheng Sheng-chi, established the "Jinshenglin Gold and Silver Shop" in Linzaibian, Linyuan Village, Fengshan County, Kaohsiung Prefecture (now part of Linyuan District, Kaohsiung City), dealing in gold, silver, and other ornaments.

1969

The gold and silver shop business was handed over to Mr. Cheng Fu-Hsing, Cheng Sheng-Chi's father, and renamed "Jin Liyu Gold and Silver Shop," exhibiting items such as gold, silver, jade, coins, and antiques.

1976

After the 1970s, antique jade pieces became increasingly scarce in Taiwan, while Hong Kong had already established basic mechanisms for the manufacturing and sale of Burmese jade.

Mr. Cheng Fu-hsing decided to go to Hong Kong to engage in the jade trading business and further expand his wholesale jade business in Taiwan.

1985

In the 1980s, the third generation of the family, Cheng Sheng-chi, began participating in the family business, actively expanding it and taking on the crucial role of establishing the jade industry chain.

1993

We established a jade factory on Guangdong Road in Kowloon, Hong Kong, marking the first jade factory in Hong Kong founded by a Taiwanese company. A stable supply of finished products enabled our family business to expand from trading jade items to managing jade factory inventory, allowing us to gain a deeper mastery of quality control and production.
At the same time, we developed our own jewelry-setting factory and established "Wo Hing Jewelry Company" on Guangdong Road in Kowloon, Hong Kong, officially launching our retail channel in Hong Kong.

2000

Moving into mainland China, we first established a jade factory in Pingzhou, Guangdong, and actively developed the Chinese market. Our jade wholesale business had by then expanded across mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau.

2002

"Yong Cui Yuan" was established in China. Subsequently, retail stores were successively set up in key cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Qingdao, Chengdu, Nanning, Hangzhou, Changchun, and Beijing.

2008

Upon returning to Taiwan, Cheng Sheng-chi officially founded the jadeite brand "JADEGIA".

The brand's first flagship store is located on Renai Road in Taipei. Large floor-to-ceiling windows reflect the lush greenery, while the walls are adorned with Sen-no-Kogei ceramics, creating a steady and elegant atmosphere. Inside, fashionable jadeite jewelry, exquisite art pieces, and the comprehensive aesthetics of Eastern treasures come together, serving as the brand's base for its journey ahead.

2012

In November, we officially moved into Taipei 101, embarking on the brand's journey toward internationalization. On opening day, we invited renowned celebrity Ms. Lin Chiling to be the ribbon-cutting guest.

2013

In November, "Prosperity and Purity – The Fashion and Classics of Jadeite from YSJ" special exhibition was held at the "Chin Chia Yun-Yen" reception hall in Taichung, marking the first time such an aesthetic exchange event was organized for collectors and connoisseurs in the greater Taichung area.

2017

In October, the Yushi Jia Taipei 101 image store was renovated and a VIP reception room was added.

In the same year, the Taichung Far Eastern Department Store branch opened, officially entering central Taiwan. On the opening day, renowned artist Ms. Ruby Lin was invited as the ribbon-cutting guest.

2018

In February, the "Dao Fa Zi Ran" series of jadeite art creation projects officially launched. This series showcases the myriad transformations of nature, with its themes, underlying artistic conception, and carving craftsmanship all reaching the pinnacle of excellence.

In April, the Eastern Wind Television Station interviewed Jade World, producing that year's video feature on outstanding and excellent brands among Taiwanese enterprises.

2019

In April, I was invited by Taipei Tokyo Muchun Hall Auction Co., Ltd. to participate in the "Muchun Hall 2019 April Auction" exhibition at Huashan 1914 Creative Park.

2021

In March, the first monograph, "Dao Fa Zi Ran: A Collection of Selected Works," will be published by Fu Zi.

The "Dao Fa Zi Ran" series is a jadeite art creation project launched in 2018. Rooted in a profound jade culture tradition, it explores themes, techniques, and aesthetic expressions to break through, transform, and even overturn conventional thinking and aesthetics in the field of traditional jade craftsmanship, opening up new artistic horizons for jadeite culture.

In April and May, selected works from the "Dao Fa Zi Ran" series will be showcased at a limited-time jadeite art exhibition on the first floor of the Far Eastern Plaza in Taipei.

2022

From March to May, we were invited by Taipei 101 Mall to participate in the "2022 Taipei 101 Love in the Clouds Children's Charity Market" to jointly support charitable causes and donate items for sale.

2023.03

In March, we were invited to establish a brand flagship store on the official Taipei 101 Mall website, "Stage 101," presenting a diverse and exceptional design vision alongside top international brands. Based in Taiwan and looking globally, we convey the unique spirit and charm of Eastern culture through a profound cultural heritage and contemporary aesthetics.

2023.10

It has consecutively been the top-selling brand at The Mall at Far Eastern Plaza and offers consumers a more comprehensive viewing and purchasing experience with its unique cross-regional multi-sales display space within the mall.

2024

In October, the "Endless Treasures of Jade: Jade Dynasty Classic Exhibition" will be held at the Ren’ai flagship store, showcasing long-held, rarely seen emerald jade treasures, exquisite jade masterpieces that redefine artistic boundaries, and rare, top-tier jadeite jewelry. Masterpieces from across the ages and modern fashion sensibilities will come together in a single exhibition.

Among the highlights is the highly anticipated "Qing Dynasty Imperial Tribute Three-Color Emerald Jade Guanyin with Fish Basket," which was originally presented to the imperial family. It is meticulously crafted with precise workmanship and captures both form and spirit. The original imperial jade from which this Guanyin was carved also yielded two other Guanyin figures: one is preserved in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) in New York, while the other fetched approximately NT$330 million at an international auction in 2016. This underscores the exceptional rarity and significance of the piece, both in terms of market value and collectible importance.

2025

In September, following the release of their first anthology, "The Way of Nature," another specialized book, "Jade's Endless Treasures: Selected Classics from Jadeite Family," was published. This new book meticulously features museum-quality jadeite jewelry and jade carvings from the mid-Qing Dynasty to the Republican era, all from the Jadeite Family collection. The jade materials are rare, and the craftsmanship is exquisite, making it an exceptional selection.
